ABOUT
Untold Editions introduces a new, artist-led gallery model in New York, grounded in the belief that designers should shape not only what they make, but how their work is presented, contextualized, and experienced.
Founded by Samantha Gallacher (Art+Loom) and Andreea Avram Rusu (Avram Rusu Studio), the initiative brings together two distinct practices to create a space where functional art and collectible design is presented directly by its creators.
Opening in May 2026, Untold Editions departs from the traditional curator-led gallery format, instead positioning itself as a living platform driven by the vision, material sensibility, and creative dialogue of its founders.
Conceived as both a gallery and creative venture, Untold Editions reflects the shared ambition of Gallacher and Avram Rusu to create a space that exists at the intersection of art, design, and architecture. Rather than presenting objects in isolation, the gallery is designed as an immersive environment that situates design within a richer experiential context.
Designed by the founders, intimate vignettes unfold to reflect their distinct yet complimentary approaches. Sculptural lighting, handknotted rugs, and handcrafted furnishings are layered into cohesive scenes. Within this framework, each piece is positioned as part of a broader composition - where light, texture, and form interact to create a unified spatial narrative.
About The Founders
“Untold Editions was conceived as a New York gallery dedicated to distinctive, collectible works that merge art with function. Exceptional pieces curated by the makers themselves for a discerning collector.”
Samantha Gallacher | Art + Loom
Samantha Gallacher is an entrepreneur and design leader, best known as the founder of Art + Loom, the Miami-based studio redefining rugs as collectible, art-driven works. With a background in interior design and textile development, her practice operates at the intersection of design innovation, manufacturing, and brand building. Through Art + Loom, Gallacher has transformed a niche concept into a globally recognized brand, collaborating with leading designers and advancing new approaches to production. Her work repositions rugs as central, expressive elements within contemporary interiors, balancing material exploration with a strong sense of composition and scale. Untold Editions marks a natural extension of her practice, expanding her vision into a broader curatorial dialogue with like-minded designers.
“We wanted to move beyond the traditional gallery model and propose something more intimate - one that reflects how people live with design, where material, light, and form come together in a cohesive narrative.”
Andreea Avram Rusu | Avram Rusu Studio
Founded in 2004, Avram Rusu Studio is the New York–based practice of Romanian-born artist, architect, and designer Andreea Avram Rusu. The studio first emerged from an exploration of sculptural, integrated illumination shaped by her work in architecture and interiors, and has since developed into a singular body of lighting, furniture, objects, and rugs that increasingly occupies the realm of illuminated sculpture. Rusu’s work is defined by bold, elemental form and a precise command of material and light. Often conceived in direct relationship to architecture and at an installation scale, it joins sculptural presence with rigorous attention to construction, engineering, and detail. Developed through hands-on experimentation and iterative full-scale prototyping, all lighting is made to order in the studio’s Brooklyn studio, where each piece is closely overseen from fabrication through finish.
